Challenge.
AISL Harrow Schools required a branding overhaul that could encapsulate their rich history while appealing to a modern, international audience. The challenge was to create brand assets that would not only be visually appealing but also meaningful and reflective of the school’s ethos. DASH was tasked with crafting a design system that could be applied across various mediums, from certification and publishing design to merchandise and campus decorations, ensuring a unified and recognizable brand identity.
The branding project for AISL Harrow Schools by DASH features a cohesive design system that draws from key elements of the school’s identity. Incorporating motifs inspired by the school’s rich history and global presence, DASH successfully blends tradition with modernity.
The motifs are versatile and can be applied across a wide range of branding materials, ensuring a consistent and recognizable visual identity. These motifs can be used as repeating patterns for backgrounds, providing a subtle yet elegant brand presence on printed materials such as brochures, stationery, and packaging. They can also be used as decorative dividers in publications, adding a sophisticated touch to layout designs.
Additionally, the motifs are ideal for embossing or debossing on premium items like certificates, folders, and book covers, enhancing the tactile experience of the brand. They can also be featured prominently on merchandise such as travel tags, key rings, and other school-related accessories, reinforcing brand recognition. By integrating these motifs into various applications, AISL Harrow Schools can maintain a unified brand identity that reflects their values and heritage across all platforms and touchpoints.
DASH extended these motifs into various applications, ensuring versatility and consistency across different platforms. We created a master pattern incorporating key elements such as the Harrow lion, international “H,” and house crests, designed to be versatile enough for use across various contexts, from school publications to digital platforms. This ensured a seamless and consistent brand experience throughout all visual materials. Additionally, DASH developed a custom Harrow frame featuring the school’s motifs, intended for use in certifications, photo frames, and official documents. This design element added a touch of sophistication and continuity to all branded materials, enhancing the overall presentation and reinforcing the identity of AISL Harrow Schools.
To further distinguish AISL Harrow Schools’ branding, DASH commissioned illustrators to create sketch-style drawings of the school campuses instead of using standard photographs. This artistic approach not only adds a unique flair to the branding but also emphasizes the bespoke nature of the education offered, setting the schools apart from their competitors.
Moreover, DASH developed a comprehensive packaging system utilizing the newly created design assets, intended for future various uses across different brand touchpoints. This system ensures that the motifs and branding elements are consistently applied, maintaining a cohesive and recognizable identity for AISL Harrow Schools.
In addition to the packaging system, DASH designed a set of bespoke branding collaterals that include travel tags, keyrings, twister dice, and umbrella, each reflecting the identity and values of AISL Harrow Schools. The travel tags are elegantly crafted, featuring the school’s motifs and logos, making them a stylish and functional accessory for students and staff alike. The keyrings, designed with the Harrow lion and other signature elements, serve as a compact yet prominent reminder of the school’s prestigious heritage. The twister dice, an innovative and playful addition, incorporate the school’s branding in a creative way, blending fun with brand recognition. Lastly, the umbrellas, adorned with the school campus illustrations, are not only practical but also add a touch of sophistication, making them a perfect representation of the school’s blend of tradition and modernity. These collaterals were designed to be more than just functional items; they are tangible expressions of the AISL Harrow Schools’ brand, ensuring that the school’s identity is carried forward in everyday life.
Through this project, DASH successfully created a cohesive design system that extended AISL Harrow Schools’ existing branding into new areas. The project not only honored the institution’s heritage but also provided a flexible and modern design language that could be adapted for future developments.
